What is the CAP
Finance Social Finance Fund ?

The CAP Finance Social Finance Fund (SFF) is a fund manager selected by the government of Canada to manage capital that will reinforce and further develop the social finance market in Quebec.

The primary mission of the SFF is to invest capital in existing or developing market intermediaries who, in turn, invest in social purpose organizations (SPOs) whose activities have positive social, cultural and environmental impacts in Quebec. Designed with a lens of social equity and inclusionstrong>, the SFF seeks to reach and support underrepresented groups and diverse equity-seeking communities.

The SFF stems from a social innovation and social finance strategy from the federal government led by Employment and Social Development Canada (EDSC). The strategy’s purpose is to accelerate the growth of the social finance market throughout Canada. In addition to the CAP Finance Social Finance Fund, two other fund managers have been mandated by the government to support the rollout of the initiative across Canada.
